Welcome to the Letchworth 48 Website
The Traditional Annual Inaugural Letchworth 48 holiday escape or Tail48 for short will be held between 22nd April 2005 and 30th August 2005 inclusive (should cover everyones holidays!).
The object is to guess how far all the pigs will travel. Each pig is allowed one journey and the distance to the destination will be used, the distance calculated will not include the return journey.
Ok I hear you cry why, how much and what’s in it for me and how do I participate ?

To raise money for the Macmillan Nurses (the chosen charity for 2005). |

much |
3 pounds will get you a pig plus one guess at the total distance. Every 1 pound after that will get you another guess. |

What’s in it for me |
The winner will get an amazing prize (yet to be decided on). But prizes include a genuine can of South Korean Rice Drink and an Iranian picture on Camel Bone (framed). The pig will get to fight another day! |
Example
If all 48 pigs travel from Letchworth to Auckland NZ the total distance will be 544,128 miles
But if they all went from Letchworth to Stevenage UK the total distance will be 249 miles

31/03/05 - The Pigs are expected to be released to a holding pen in Letchworth in the next 24 hours
